Thank you!

Thanks to those who attended the CCBC's first community meeting, 9/11/10

Thank you to everyone who attended Culver City Bicycle Coalition’s first community meeting. We were thrilled to meet you, and look forward to improving biking in Culver City with you.

Please take a moment to post your ideas and tell us what your top priorities for biking are.  And be sure to attend the city council meetings and encourage them to approve the BPMP.

We would love your active participation in our growing group!

Thanks to all the great people I met at the first CCBC meeting (and hello to old friends). I’d like to try to get a bicycle safety education event set up at Farragut Elementary school, where my two daughters are students. Perhaps we could include kids from the Middle School and High School as well. I haven’t cleared this with Farragut yet, but want to bring it up at the next PTA meeting. Any chance someone could put me in contact with the folks who run such events. I recall several people talking about friends or colleagues who had run bicycle safety education events in the past.

Nice idea Brian, and thank you for coming. I’ve thought about programs like this for El Marino, including a bike safety day, a Bike to School day complete with escorts off the Ballona Bike Path and more. Perhaps we can discuss your idea and get our heads moving in the same direction?

    • Please join us a Linwood E. Howe Elementary on Saturday, October 2nd, where we are kicking-off International Walk (& Ride) to School week with a bike repair & bike safety day. Bring your kids & bikes & friends! There will be a kid bike safety class for parents by certified instructor (and president of Sustainable Streets) Ron Durgin from 10am-11am, CCPD officers will also be there to show basic rules of the road.
It’s a great FREE event, and will give you some ideas & contacts for starting this off at your schools.
